Role Descriptions

Scorer/timer Clinic

Washington State Girls Lacrosse Virtual Scoring and Timing Clinic. February 26th recording and resource Documents. You must attend or watch this recording to be able to sign up for Scorekeeper/Stats, Spotter, or Timekeeper roles.

Field Setup at home games

Your primary role is setting up cones, goals, scoring table & chairs and other equipment before the game. Please arrive at the field 20-30 minutes before the game starts to collect items from the storage shed.

Scorekeeper/Stats

Your primary role is to track goals, assists, and other stats. Please arrive at the field at least 15 minutes before the start of the game to familiarize yourself with the score sheet and coordinate with the officials on rules for the game.

Spotter

Your primary role is to assist the scorekeeper by keeping track of key plays and players names/jersey numbers.

Sideline Manager

Your primary role as a sideline manager is to maintain a positive and sportsmanlike environment on the sidelines and in the stands. Please arrive at the game a little early to receive any last-minute instructions or updates from the officials.

Timekeeper at Home Games

Your primary role is to accurately keep track of game time and penalty time. Please arrive at the field at least 15 minutes before the start of the game to familiarize yourself with the clock and coordinate with the officials to confirm length of quarters, half time, and any other specific timing rules for the game.

Videographer

Your primary role is to capture video of the players during the game and share with the team managers and coaches after the game.

Photograher

Your primary role is to capture action shots of the players during the game and share the photos with the team managers and coaches after the game.

Field Breakdown

Your primary role is removing cones, goals, scoring table & chairs and other equipment after the game and putting them away. Please stay after the game and return items to the storage shed.

Board Member

A WGYL Board Member plays a crucial role in the governance, leadership, and success of the club. Board members provide strategic direction, oversee club operations, and ensure the organization serves its players, families, and the community effectively. This is a volunteer position requiring a commitment to meetings, club activities, and fundraising efforts. This fulfills all hours on the required volunteer hours and many more.
